This story is continued from Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane #63.

Synopsis:
With the help of undercover FBI agent Van Benson, Lois infiltrates the S.K.U.L. organization. She is given an assignment to kill Superman. Lois carries out her instructions by using Weapon X against the Man of Steel. Superman is apparently split into two weakened bodies. After the successful operation, S.K.U.L. agent Tamara reveals herself as the head of the criminal organization. Superman then reveals himself, having been disguised as Benson. Knowing of the plan before hand, he disabled Weapon X and feigned weakness to learn the identity of the S.K.U.L. leader.

With the criminal organization broken up, Benson is reassigned. He leaves his job as editor of the Daily Planet, which is filled by Perry White who is returning from his term as temporary senator.
