Synopsis:
Supergirl is exposed to Red Kryptonite while on a mission in the future. On the trip back to her own time period, she sees Jimmy Olsen die in a helicopter accident 48 hours from the present. Supergirl then learns the effects of the Red Kryptonite, which cause her to lose her powers as Supergirl, but retain them as Linda Lee.

Linda gets a job at the Daily Planet to protect Jimmy. She tries to get him fired, so that he can't pilot the Flying Newsroom. She finally succeeds in getting Jimmy fired, but later she hears a report about a helicopter crash. When she arrives on the scene, a crook disguised as Jimmy is dead in the accident. The real Jimmy is alive and arrives on the scene. Perry White hires him back to report the story. Linda then quits the Planet, and the effects of the Red Kryptonite wear off.
