Synopsis:
Superboy uses his super costume to plug a leak in an atomic reactor. His actions allow workers to escape before the reactor explodes. Superboy blends into the crowd in his Clark Kent clothes, but is then ordered to the hospital. The workers and Clark are put under medical quarantine to make sure they were not exposed to radiation.

Confined to a hospital, Clark is unable to retrieve his costume which washes out to sea. Two young boys find the costume and use it to protect themselves from a lightning storm. Aided by Superboy's super breath, the costume then rescues a drowning fisherman. It then is used as a tow cable and to protect a fireman during a rescue.

Finally the costume lands in the hands of Lefty Lloyd, a criminal who uses the costume to protect himself from police bullets. Working at a distance, Superboy ensures that Lloyd is caught. He is then released from the hospital and is able to retrieve the costume.
