Synopsis:
While on patrol near the island city of Naponi, the Blackhawks spot a machine threatening several people. They land and help rescue the people. Instead of receiving gratitude, the people demand that the Blackhawks leave the island immediately.
When a broken set of landing gear prevents their departure, the Blackhawks learn why the people have banned them. A recent volcanic eruption has poisoned the air. By remaining on the island, the Blackhawks received a fatal dose of the poisoned fumes.
When the Blackhawks learn that the machines seen on the island are attacking the mainland they leave the island. They also find that the crooks using the machines perpetrated the volcanic eruption. The deadly fumes were just a hoax. The Blackhawks capture them and let the island residents know that they will live.
