Synopsis:
Small-time crook Joe Connor is sent to prison by district attorney Jim Kelley. He vows revenge and while in prison studies many disciplines including law and medicine. Several years later, Connor is released. Publicly he appears to be reformed, but in reality he still intends to carry out his revenge against Kelley. Connor arranges the kidnapping of Kelley's son, whom he raises as his own.

Years later, Kelley's son Roy has grown into a young man who has no knowledge of his true father. Connor has lied to Roy and convinced him that Kelley murdered his mother. Roy takes the name Roy Revenge and begins a criminal life.

Using the criminal alias, the Threat, Connor tries to carry out his plan by having Roy kill his real father. The plans are thwarted by the Flash. Connor is caught and sent back to prison, while Roy hides on a farm with his sister.

Connor escapes prison in a barrel of lye, but he is seriously burned. The burns allow him to alter his appearance. Connor continues his criminal plans under the name Dr. Cravath. Once again he enlists the aid of Roy.

With the help of Connor's own daughter, Flash is able to save Kelley again. Roy then learns the truth about his past and his real father. Roy helps set Connor up for capture, but the criminal commits suicide rather than be sent to prison again. Roy agrees to make amends for his own crimes and promises to reform.
