Synopsis:
Jimmy inherits a newspaper, the Clarion, from a dead relative. As publisher of the paper, Jimmy writes stories favoring the underworld and soon gains their backing. Lois goes to work for Jimmy to discover why Jimmy has changed.

Jimmy, Lois, and several mobsters attend a demonstration by an escape artist, the Ghost. The Ghost puts on a show of amazing safe cracking ability which gets the criminals’ attention. They use him to open a safe containing their loot from a previous heist. They then turn on him, but it turns out to be Superman. Jimmy had used the paper to gain the confidence of the crooks, so they would expose themselves and lead him and Superman to damaging evidence against them.
