Synopsis:
When Perry White publishes a story exposing a group of stock swindlers in the Daily Planet, the crooks try to kill him. Superman rescues Perry and hides him in the Fortress of Solitude. Then the Man of Steel takes Perry’s place, in order to make the crooks believe Perry is his secret identity. The crooks strike again, but Superman’s invulnerability protects him.

Perry escapes from the Fortress using a flying belt. When he returns to Metropolis, people continue believing he is Superman. Now the crooks try using Kryptonite on Perry, but since the real Perry has returned it has no effect. The swindlers realize they have been hoaxed and try to shoot Perry. Superman arrives in time to save Perry and catch the crooks.
