Synopsis:
James Willoughby from Corinth sponsors a track and field tournament between the boys of Corinth and the boys of Smallville. On the first day of the tournament, Corinth wins most events convincingly. Superboy discovers that Willoughby has fixed the competition.

Anxious to discover Willoughby's motive, Superboy enters the competition himself and wins every event on the second day. However, he is disqualified because the rules state that he must try his best and he held back to prevent injury and damage.

Superboy tries again on the next day of competition. This time he also discovers Willoughby's motive. The tournament was set up as a distraction, so that his gang could tunnel under the Smallville bank and rob it. Willoughby allowed Superboy to learn that he had fixed the competition in order to keep the Boy of Steel occupied. Once Superboy learns the true purpose of the event, he apprehends the crooks. He then uses the reward money to sponsor an honest tournament.
