Synopsis:
While trying to capture some jewel thieves, Superboy is exposed to some Red Kryptonite in his Clark Kent identity. The Kryptonite gives him amnesia and temporarily causes him to black out. While unconscious, he is carried away from Smallville until he is found by an encyclopedia editor.

Clark has to relearn English from speed-reading a dictionary and an encyclopedia. Then he sets out into the world. His identity is nearly given away several times, but fate intervenes to protect him. Clark finally believes that he is a defective Superboy robot.

Krypto locates the missing Boy of Steel and jars him into remembering his identity.
