Synopsis:
Clark Kent takes over running his father's store when Pa Kent is injured. He sells a can of sardines to Mr. Smith, then another customer, Mr. Olsen becomes upset when the can is missing from the case he ordered.

Later Mr. Smith is nearly killed when the bridge he is driving across collapses. Superboy rescues him. After Smith is safe, Superboy discovers that the bridge was sabotaged and the sardine can is missing.

Superboy follows the trail to the Olsen farm, where crooks are holding Olsen's daughter hostage. They are using the sardine cans to smuggle parts of an experimental army weapon into the country. Superboy foils their scheme and rescues the Olsens.
