Synopsis:
A strange ship appears in the sky which performs good deeds. The craft then lands and a luminous being exits the ship. The creature makes an appeal for Superman’s help in saving his world, Dimension X. Superman enters the ship to be taken back to the alien’s world.

The ship is really a trap set up by Luthor. He has rigged the ship to detonate a bomb under Metropolis if Superman ever exits it. With Superman out of the way, Luthor sends a phony Superman to convince world leaders to hand over atomic weapons to the alien. The leaders agree, giving Luthor the means to proclaim himself the dictator of Earth.

Superman escapes from the ship without detonating the bomb. Free from the trap, Superman easily defeats his nemesis and returns the dangerous weapons to the government.
