Synopsis:
Without warning the light of the sun is mysteriously blocked from the Earth. The world's top scientists convene to determine the cause. An ultimatum arrives from Luthor claiming credit. Unwilling to turn the planet over to the tyrant, the president has Superman construct an underground city. Before the city can be populated however, Luthor destroys it with a powerful heat ray.

Luthor pays a visit to the president and demands surrender. As he leaves, Lois Lane stows away on Luthor's ship. Meanwhile Superman discovers an invisible barrier in space responsible for the eclipse. He destroys the barrier and the lenses which allow Luthor to utilize the sun as a weapon. He then rescues Lois and restores sunlight to Earth.
