Synopsis:
Criminal inventor Doc Merlin sells the underworld on his new invention which causes Superman to help lazy and useless people instead of fighting crime. Superman helps a fisherman and a group of hoboes, prompting Lois Lane to investigate. Merlin is actually working with Superman to capture members of a crime syndicate. The gang discover that Merlin is a cop and try to kill him. Superman comes to the rescue and apprehends the syndicate. Jimmy Olsen gets the real story, scooping Lois who still believes that Superman was only helping lazy people.
