Synopsis:
Aquaman and Aqualad meet Quisp, a water sprite from a secret sea beneath the ocean. Quisp is a prankster with strange powers, but requests Aquaman’s help in defeating three fire-trolls which have emerged from a volcano and ravaged his homeland.

The fire-breathing trolls are able to defeat Aquaman’s fish friends and then attack an island military base. Aquaman helps send explosive rockets against the trolls, but it does not stop them. Aquaman then decides to use a freeze compound developed by a scientist recently. There is not enough of the compound to affect the trolls, and they shake it off onto Aquaman and Aqualad. The compound combined with Quisp’s powers cause the duo to shrink to tiny size.

The shrunken heroes must escape from several dangers and return to water within the hour because they have grown weak. Eventually Aquaman tricks a seagull into dowsing them with water which revives them. The shrinking effect soon wears off restoring them to normal.

Aquaman lures the trolls back to the island after learning that they are stockpiling explosives so they can blow a hole in the ocean floor and release their bretheren. The Sea King sprays them with the compound and Quisp using his powers on them resulting in them shrinking in size. The trolls are then corralled and returned to the hole in the ocean floor. The crevice is then sealed, trapping them forever.
