Atop the pole, Tom is threatened by trouble both natural and man made. Several attacks are made against him, but Superman protects Tom.
On the final day, Arnold informs Tom that Jean is sick. Superman disguised as Tom visits her sickbed. Tom's business partner Quent then tries to kill Arnold and Tom. Superman stops him and exposes Quent as an embezzler. Tom successfully completes his flagpole stunt and wins Jean.
