The origin of the Trickster is briefly recapped in this story.

Synopsis:
The Trickster breaks out of jail to begin another crime spree. Flash, who is looking for the Trickster, has captured some thieves. While escorting them to jail, Trickster shows up and steals the loot. This pattern happens again and again over the next several days with the Flash unable to catch his foe.

Flash finally traces Trickster to a workshop in an old factory. Flash grabs a dummy that Trickster had set up. The dummy explodes and Flash is apparently killed. Flash was able to outrun the blast and catch his opponent, returning him to prison.
