Comments:
This story features a prototype of Sgt. Rock. He is called Sgt. Rocky in this story, but has most of the major elements that would become the final version of Sgt. Rock. This story is listed as his first appearance, though the the first story of Our Army at War #83 is the first story to feature the final version of the character.

Easy Company is also caled E Company and East Company in this story.

Synopsis:
On the frontlines of World War II Europe, the German army sends a barrage against American soldiers. Sgt. Rocky defends the American position for Easy Company. Rocky fights off a charge by German infantry, takes out of tank with a landmine, and personally defeats the German captain in hand-to-hand combat.
