Comments:
The Red Kryptonite in this story splits Clark Kent and Superboy into two separate entities. The effect is permanent, and the Kryptonite also is shown to affect Earth creatures like frogs as well, which is inconsistent with its later effects.
Synopsis:
An alien named Kozz, uses Red Kryptonite to split Superboy and Clark into two separate people. Superboy retains his powers while Clark does not. The Clark duplicate’s sense of right and wrong has been changed as well. Clark forces Superboy out of the Kent house with Kryptonite and is out to destroy him.
Superboy takes a new identity as Flying Spirit, an indian boy. Clark tries to uncover the new identity of Superboy using the Kryptonite. He even uses Lana Lang to assist him.
Superboy eventually confronts Clark, and the two boys duel using Superboy’s robots. Clark cheats to win, but in doing so overloads the robot control machine. It explodes, killing Clark. With the duplicate gone, Superboy resumes his Clark Kent identity.
