Comments:
The origin of the Flash is briefly recapped in this story.
Synopsis:
Archeologist, John Haines, discovers a metallic figure buried deep in the rock near the outskirts of Central City. The figure is an eight million year old survivor from an ancient civilization.
Later at police headquarters Barry Allen is puzzled by a wave of odd robberies. Barry obtains a description of the thief from an account given from a security guard. When a man matching the guard’s description is seen near the park, Barry rushes into action as the Flash.
The figure in the park is the ancient being, Katmos. He is in the process of testing a mind control weapon. Flash tries to stop the being but is hit with the weapon and captured. Katmos takes Flash to the cave where he was found. There he places Flash in a trap. Flash escapes his imprisonment and outruns the blasts from Katmos’ weapon. Avoiding the mind control rays, Flash apprehends Katmos, defeating him.
