This story is continued from the second story of Detective Comics #388.

Synopsis:
Batgirl crashes a party in which smugglers have taken stolen diamonds. The crooks discover that their partner Darlene Dawson has double-crossed them by substituting fake jewels for the real ones. The crooks believe Batgirl is Darlene, and they attack her. She apprehends all of them except their leader who is dressed as Superman.

Batgirl then attempts to find Darlene and the real jewels. The gang boss follows her to Darlene's grandfather's house. Batgirl then learns that Darlene and her grandfather were working together to steal the jewels. The leader of the smugglers then sees Darlene and attempts to shoot her. However he is shot by Mr. Dawson who was attempting to kill Batgirl. Batgirl then apprehends Darlene and her grandfather.
