Comments:
This story takes place in a future timeline which may or may not be connected to official Post-Crisis continuity. It takes place in approximately the year 2075. This date is extrapolated based on the birth dates of Robert Chang and Lena Schwartz. The grandson of Jim Gordon becomes the new Batman in this story. The original Batman appears in flashback only which takes place late in his life.

Synopsis:
In the far future, technology has advanced to the point where it has become dominant. Sgt. Jim Gordon, witnesses several robot policemen gun down criminals and civilian alike. The media then covers up the problem. When Gordon investigates, his partner Lena Schwartz is killed and he becomes a target. Using the costume and equipment given to his grandfather by the original Batman, Gordon assumes the identity of Batman to get justice.

The technology is being run by a virus created by the original Joker with the help of the mayor and her three lieutenant. When Gordon is hunted down, he is saved by the Batcode, a program created by Batman decades earlier. Working together with the Batcode, Gordon and his sidekick Robert Chang take down the lieutenants. The Batcode and Joker Virus then battle it out digitally, neutralizing each other. After the mayor is taken down, Gordon decides to continue his cause for justice in hopes of maintaining a balance between technology and humanity.
