Chapter 6:"The Stuff of Legends"
Chapter 7:"First Encounter"

This story takes place across three time periods. The first is continued directly from Atlantis Chronicles #4 and details the war between Poseidonis and Tritonis. The second is a framing sequence which bookends the war takes place many decades later. A period in which Fiona is now an elderly queen married to Regin. The third time period takes place generations later and chronicles the lives of King Honsu, his queen Lorelei, and their children Kraken, Atlan, and Haumond. The story from the third time period continues directly in Atlantis Chronicles #6.

A fictitious article entitled "Lorelei – The Missing Link of Atlantis" follows this story. It includes background information regarding the lineage of Honsu and Lorelei. Fiona and Regin produced two children Fatima and Kalunga. Honsu is a direct descendant of Manu, Fatima's son. Lorelei is the direct descendant of Nala, the daughter of Kalunga and a woman named Gana. Gana may have been the offspring of Kordax and a surface woman, thereby continuing the combined bloodline of Orin and Shalako.

Synopsis:
Kordax and Dardanus lead an assault on Atlantis. Kordak commands a large contingent of sea creatures during the attack. However, when the waters become bloody, the sharks begin ignoring his commands. They turn on the army from Tritonis. As a result, the armies of Poseidonis and Tritonis combine forces to defend themselves.

Bazil, the warlord of the Poseidonis army is serious injured when his arm is biten off by a shark. Dardanus then attacks him, but Orin comes to his defense. Nearby, Kordax seeks out Regin and attacks him. Fiona comes to Regin's defense and battles Kordax. Regin then sees Shalako's spirit arise from the Cave of Death. Seeking to assuage his guilt for betraying his father, Dardanus kills Orin. Dardanus is the killed by Shalako. Orin's death allows him to become a spirit with the power to battle his brother.

In the aftermath of the battle Kordax is captured. Cora orders his arm be severed and that he be exiled. Forever more, children born with blond hair are said to be marked by Kordax.

Decades later after Fiona has risen to be queen, she questions Regin's account of events at the cave. She wonders aloud if Regin actually killed Dardanus after Orin's death, then made up the story of Shalako's spirit. Regin's response is less than conclusive.

Generations later, Atlan the middle son of King Honsu and Queen Lorelei returns to Atlantis. His blond hair made him an outcast. In his return, he brings a bird obtained from the surface world. A world which the Atlanteans were unaware of its continued existence.
