Challenge of the Gods Book 4

This issue is labeled:"Millennium Week 5".

This story is continued from Wonder Woman #12.

The real Pan is revealed to be long dead. He has been replaced by a Manhunter.

Wonder Woman's appearance with other heroes at the Green Lantern Citadel takes place concurrently in Millennium #5.

Synopsis:
Hippolyte continues on her quest to find her daughter. She stumbles upon the lair of Polyphemus, the blind cyclops. He is sleeping, but she is disturbed to find the bones of the demi-god Pan. The Gods are observing the Amazon queen. They are shocked to learn that the real Pan is dead, and that they have been deceived by his Manhunter double. Hermes is dispatched to bring Wonder Woman back from the Man's World.

Wonder Woman is attending a meeting with the other heroes at the Green Lantern Citadel when Hermes arrives. He brings her back to the underworld under Paradise Island. She then helps her mother defeat the cyclops.

After the battle is over, Wonder Woman and Hippolyte attempt to free Heracles who has been imprisoned in stone. After another fight with Echidna and her minions, Diana uses her lasso of truth to bind her mother and Heracles together. Through their joining, the demons that bind Heracles are released. Wonder Woman then traps them in Harmonia's amulet which she then delivers to Ares.

As a result of completing the challenge, Wonder Woman has earned the respect of the Gods. She wants to return to her mother, but Hermes demands that she seek out the Manhunter Pan and kill him.
