Synopsis:
As Travis Morgan approaches Shamballah, he is attacked by a pack of wild dogs. He fights them off and seeks refuge in the shadow of a demolished temple. The dogs attack again and are slaughtered by the Warlord. The spilling of their blood opens a trap door which leads Morgan to a cache of goblin gold left from the days of the wizard kings.

Despite his belief that the gold could be used for good purposes, the Warlord elects to leave it behind. He does take a shield with a winged bird emblazoned on it. When Morgan picks up the shield, two long dead trolls spring to life and attack. The Warlord ultimately destroys them by exposing them to sunlight.

Morgan leaves the temple and resumes his journey to Shamballah. The bird emblem on the shield then comes to life and carries him away from his goal. Morgan is unable to free himself until the bird is destroyed by a lightning strike. The Warlord falls into a body of water and eventually washes up on an unfamiliar shore line.
