Synopsis:
Swamp Thing meets with the Parliament of Trees to find out what happened to his successor. They direct him to Slaughter Swamp where the Sprout has merged with the body of Solomon Grundy. Swamp Thing and Grundy fight. Swamp Thing discovers interference is preventing him from leaving his current body, and Grundy destroys him. Grundy then bathes in a vat of acid, which removes the Sprout from his body. He then wanders away to find Jade.

John Constantine arrives at the swamp after following a clue from the Floronic Man. He uses a tuber to restore Swamp Thing who reports that the interference has suddenly stopped. Constantine cryptically indicates to Swamp Thing that the Parliament wants him dead so that they can assimilate his knowledge and abilities. Swamp Thing then ponders how to go about fighting them.
