Comments:
It is unclear whether Nebiros, who appears in this story, is the same demon who later appeared in Blue Devil #1.

Synopsis:
After Swamp Thing is struck by lightning, he is helped by Father Jonathan Bliss. The preacher takes the swamp monster to his demolished church to help him recover. However, Bliss is actually working with the demon Nebiros to bring about armageddon. Bliss lures Swamp Thing into a trap which allows the demon to take over his body.

In the body of Swamp Thing, Nebiros encounters Matt, Abby, and their companion Luke. He takes them prisoner and brings them back to the church. Matt Cable convinces Bliss that he is misguided. Abby then helps free Alec from Nebiros. The demon tries to possess Bliss, but the old man's body is too frail, and it burst into flame. Swamp Thing, Matt, and Abby exit the church where they witness Bolt being carried away by a helicopter.
