Synopsis:
After seeing an article in the newspaper, Starman flies to San Francisco to visit his father in the hospital. Will hasn't seen his father in twenty years and has no proof of their relationship. He is denied access to see his dad. So, Will assumes the identity of the doctor to get into the room and speak with his father, who is in a coma.

Raymond Deming, then wakens from his coma. Will is unable to reach the rest of his family by phone, but Jayne and her mother are already on the way. After the doctors check on Raymond, Will is allowed to speak with him. He wonders why his father left. Raymond tells him that he found fifty dollars, then got on a bus. He wanted freedom from his family, but he never used that freedom wisely.

Will is angry. He denies being like his father and even reveals his secret identity. Jayne then arrives moments before Raymond's body gives out. He issues an apology before dying.
