Synopsis:
Doctor Destiny escaped from Arkham Asylum. He kidnaps a young woman, Rosemary Kelly, and forces her to drive to the city of Mayhew. Meanwhile, Morpheus enters the dreams of Mister Miracle. When Scott Free awakens, the Sandman uses him to track down his missing ruby. Scott learns that the ruby once resided in the Justice League satellite. After its destruction, the ruby was lost. The Martian Manhunter informs Morpheus that it may have been put into storage in Mayhew.

The Sandman arrives in Mayhew and locates the Justice League storage facility. He finds the ruby inside, but it has been altered over the years by Doctor Destiny. When he tries to use it, the ruby knocks Morpheus unconscious. Doctor Destiny then arrives on the scene. He kills Rosemary, takes possession of the ruby, then enters an all-night diner to await the end of the world.
