Synopsis:
Manhunter is hired by the two owners of Southern Cross Salvage Company, which hopes to profit from technology recovered from the aliens who unsuccessfully tried to invade Earth. The owners, David Challoner and Gary Devries, hired Jeremiah Heep from Australian to recover a particular piece of tech. However, Heep has double-crossed them and is now trying to sell it to the highest bidder.

Mark tracks down Ashley Mavis Powell for her computer skills. He convinces her to rig the online auction, so that SCSC wins the bidding. She is then arrested by the FBI for her past crimes.

Manhunter and the SCSC owners then go to Australia to retrieve the tech from Heep. However, other potential buyers who lost the auction have also arrived. The interested parties include: a knight from Checkmate, Zastrow from the Soviet Union, two employees of Lex Luthor, and Kazuo Hasegawa from Japan.

Gary meets Jeremy Heep in the outback for the delivery while Manhunter watches from above using a new suit of battle armor designed by SCSC which is capable of flight. Heep then unleashes the technology, a fully functional alien war robot.
