Part 2: "The End of a Super-Traitor"

Following this story, Bouncing Boy, Chameleon Boy, Colossal Boy, Element Lad, Invisible Kid, Lightning Lass, Saturn Girl, Sun Boy, and Triplicate Girl travel back to Superman’s time for the "Superman Super-Spectacular" in the first story of Action Comics #309.

Synopsis:
The Legionnaires discover that Ultra Boy is actually Rann Varal, an escaped criminal from the planet Rimbor. After he is expelled from the Legion, his former teammates hunt him throughout the galaxy.

Eventually, he joins forces with a group of space-pirates, and he and Phantom Girl, who believes he is innocent, lead them inside the Legion Clubhouse, where he subdues them with a freeze-ray. Then he finally explains to the Legion that he had deliberately framed himself so as to infiltrate the pirate band. Exonerated, he is reinstated in the group.
