History:
Of all the established crimefighters, the Black Orchid is perhaps the most mysterious. Who she truly is, why she battles evil, and the full extent of her powers are, as of this writing, unknown.

All that can truly be documented is that she apparently appears from nowhere, moving undercover in a variety of disguises, infiltrating criminal organizations with unnerving ease, and then, when she has acquired all necessary information, donning her full-body uniform and exploding into action.

Her costumed name is obviously derived from her calling card: a specially scented, living black orchid.

Powers:
Fare more is known about the Black Orchid's powers and abilities than about the costumed crimebuster herself. She can fly and is apparently bulletproof, but nobody knows if these are natural abilities or technically created by her uniform.

The Black Orchid also appears to possess super-strength and the ability to project force-fields. This, too, lends credence to the theory that the Orchid's powers may be scientific in nature, not natural.

The Black Orchid is obviously a master of makeup and disguise far superior to any Hollywood artist currently practicing the craft.

Superman has stated that Orchid was once able to reprogram a computer using X-ray powers, but that can be discounted as hyperbole.

Her contributions as a crimefighter, however, should not be discounted at all.
