History:
Before the American Revolutionary War, young Tom Hawk went west beyond the Allegheny Mountains with a group of pioneer settlers. One day Hawk was captured by Indians, who were then attacked by a fierce moose. One of Hawk's captors, Black Thunder, fell, and to save the Indian's life, Hawk singlehandedly held off the moose. In gratitude, Black Thunder not only gave Hawk his freedom, but also offered to have his tribe teach him various Indian skills. Hawk spent a year with the tribe, who called him "Tomahawk" after he mastered the use of that Indian weapon. Hawk then returned to his own people.

Later, Hawk and a boy named Dan Hunter were trapped in a burning cabin by white men disguised as Indians, who had killed Dan's uncle. Tomahawk saved himself and Dan, and from then on acted as the orphaned boy's unofficial guardian.

Tomahawk is best known for his heroism in the Revolutionary War, during which he led a band of soldiers called the Tomahawk Rangers against the British. Another of his wartime allies was the costumed Miss Liberty, and his greatest wartime foe was the British Intelligence agent Lord Shilling.

Sometime after the war, Tomahawk moved to the Midwest, where he married Moon Fawn, an Indian chief's daughter, and raised a family. Tomahawk lived peacefully in his old age, but sometimes fought alongside his heroic son Hawk. Dan Hunter's fate is unknown.

Powers:
Tomahawk and Dan Hunter were expert hunters, trackers, marksmen, and hand-to-hand combatants. Tomahawk was also highly skilled with the bow and arrow, sword, and, of course, the tomahawk. He was a brilliant military strategist.
