History:
Deimos was a practitioner of black magic who served as the high priest of the city-state of Thera. An ambitious man, Deimos used the legendary Scrolls of Blood to ascend to the Theran throne. He then decided to conquer all of Skartaris, that primitive world within the hollow center of the Earth, but found his efforts repeatedly thwarted by an army led by a surfaceman who had accidentally discovered Skartaris and was now its greatest hero – Lt. Colonel Travis Morgan, now known as the Warlord.

When Deimos kidnapped Morgan's beloved Tara, Morgan led an assault on Deimos's fortress that ultimately led in turn to Deimos's death at Morgan's hand.

Months later, one of Deimos's minions used the arcane Mask of Life to restore Deimos, who sought vengeance against the Warlord by kidnapping Morgan's infant son, Joshua. Using his powers, Deimos cloned Joshua, then caused the child to grow to adulthood in a matter of moments. When Morgan burst into Deimos's fortress, he found he was forced to battle and ultimately slay someone he believed to be his own son. Morgan then slew Deimos again, little realizing his true son lived and had been given into the care of simple farmers.

Deimos returned from the dead several times more to challenge the Warlord, at first needing darkness and human blood to keep his body animated and slow the decomposition process. Finally, Deimos made a bargain with the mythical Evil One, who restored Deimos to life but took his powers in the exchange. When his body was finally destroyed, Deimos's head lived on, plotting new schemes of vengeance against Travis Morgan. Ultimately, Morgan left Deimos's still-living head to the wolves, and it is presumed that he has finally been destroyed.

Powers:
Though people believe Deimos to be possessed of great mystical power, in truth the Scrolls of Blood that were the source of his power were only technical manuals on computer holography that taught Deimos how to use an ancient Atlantean computer he had discovered hidden beneath his fortress. Deimos did not gain true supernatural powers until his resurrection by the Mask of Life. Now immortal, Deimos could transform himself into a serpent or dragon as well as summon demons from some unknown dimension.

An average athlete and hand-to-hand combatant, Deimos preferred to rely on his computers, his mystical skills, and his devious mind to accomplish his ends.
