History:
Obsessed with the idea of achieving immortality, the villainous Professor Ivo constructed a special android to aid him in his quest. Using special absorption cells, Amazo became charged with the stolen super-powers of the entire Justice League of America. Unfortunately for the android, he had absorbed the JLAers' weaknesses as well, and was ultimately defeated. Amazo had no interest in being revived, preferring his electronic "sleep of oblivion", but each time he is reactivated, he carries out his original programming – to destroy the JLA – in hopes that he will be returned to his electronic sleep.

Powers:
Amazo's unique absorption cells allow him to replicate the powers of every super-powered being he encounters (thus he lacks the powers of Firestorm, for example, whom he has never met), but originally he could use only one power at a time. Over a long period (and with great practice) Amazo learned to mix and match his various powers, putting them to maximum use. The length of time Amazo can retain his stolen super-powers has yet to be accurately determined. His weaponry also includes duplicates of Green Lantern's power ring and Wonder Woman's magic lasso.
