History:
Little is known of the early life of the man called the Breathtaker, save that he was born an albino dwarf, apparently abandoned by his parents. Humiliated and tormented by his peers throughout his adolescence, the young man finally constructed a powerful exoskeleton and assumed the hooded and robed identity of the Breathtaker, determined to return a thousandfold the fear and terror he had known. To this end, the Breathtaker formed his Assassination Bureau, supplying super-powered assassins to anyone with the right price.

The Breathtaker first came to public attention when the super-secret 2000 Committee hired his organization to capture the Nuclear Man called Firestorm. To this end, the Breathtaker tested Firestorm with several of the Assassination Bureau's lesser agents before confronting him with the Bureau's two chief operatives, Incognito and Mindboggler. When the Nuclear Man defeated these two as well, the Breathtaker finally lured Firestorm to his headquarters and attempted to use his vast technological resources to kill the young hero himself. Instead, Firestorm destroyed the complex, putting an end to the Breathtaker's career even as he went on to put an end to the 2000 Committee. As of this writing, the Breathtaker is currently serving a long prison term.

Powers:
To compensate for his stunted size and grotesque appearance, the Breathtaker devised an exoskeleton that enabled him to move about like the imposing figure he wished to be. Aside form granted the Breathtaker extended mobility, the exoskeleton apparently possessed no other powers.

Clad in his crimson robes, surrounded by the sophisticated technology his ill-gotten gains had enabled him to amass. The Breathtaker became a powerful figure in the underworld. Despite his bulky exoskeleton, he has displayed no skill whatsoever as a hand-to-hand combatant.
