History:
When the New Gods arose from the ashes of the old, so rose the Black Racer, an elemental force capable of dealing death with a single touch.

When the ages-old conflict between Apokolips and New Genesis flared anew, the Black Racer found himself drawn to Earth, specifically to the home of Sgt. Willie Walker, a Vietnam veteran whose combat wounds had left him totally paralyzed.

Preferring death to his immobile existence, Walker had subconsciously summoned the Black Racer, who understood Walker's plight and offered the sergeant his hand. At the Black Racer's touch, Walker found that he could move again, and he rose unsteadily to his feet to discover the Racer's armor lying on the floor before him, filled with dust.

After picking up the armor, Walker suddenly found himself transformed, in a blinding flash of light, into the new Black Racer. Now cosmically aware of his mission, the new Black Racer donned the celestial skis of his predecessor and flew off to fulfill his new destiny.

Powers:
The Black Racer has the power to phase through solid objects and bring death to those he has chosen with a single touch. He travels through the air be means of two cosmically powered celestial skis, which can accelerate to the speed of light. His ski poles can also phase through solid matter to deliver the Black Racer's deathstroke.

When he has finished delivering his message of death, the Black Racer returns to the comatose life of Sgt. Willie Walker until he is summoned anew.
