This story is continued from the third story of Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #86.

Synopsis:
Having replaced Jimmy Olsen's brain with a computer which he can control, Brainiac lures Superman into a trap. Superman repels the attack and disables Brainiac after discovering that his foe is really a machine. Brainiac then makes a deal with Superman in exchange for restoring Jimmy's brain.

After operating on Jimmy, Brainiac summons Lex Luthor and the Legion of Super-Villains. Saturn Queen orders Jimmy to steal a Kryptonite meteor from Superman's Fortress. Superman is trapped once again and is forced to beg for his life. The villains vote to execute him with Jimmy using the Kryptonite to kill his friend.

After the execution, the villains find themselves trapped inside force-pearls. Superman, who is still alive, explains that the Kryptonite was fake. He delayed the villains long enough for the Kandorians hidden inside the fake Kryptonite to trap the villains. Jimmy is freed from the mind control of Saturn Queen, and the villains are sent to a space prison.
