The Guide to DC Giants
25¢ Series

In 1970, DC started a third series of Giants, called Super DC Giant, as a companion to Series "G" and DC Special. At the same time they upgraded three of their existing standard titles to Giant status (Strange Adventures, From Beyond the Unknown, and G.I. Combat). Each upgraded title was published in the same format as the existing Giants (64 pages plus covers for 25¢).

The first of these upgraded titles, Strange Adventures #226, was squarebound. Each of the subsequent giants was saddle-stitched. Vertical stripes along the left side of the covers were intended to be placed along the spine of a squarebound book.

This set of Giants was never given an official name (like Super DC Giant, DC Special, etc). On the cover of each issue the words "25¢ Series" appeared. DC Special #13 was the only other giant upon which the words 25¢ Series appeared.

In 1971, several more titles were upgraded to 25¢ Series status: Date With Debbi, Three Mouseketeers, Swing With Scooter, Young Romance, Binky, and a single issue of Sugar and Spike.

DC abandoned the 64-Page Giant format in 1971, and all titles in the 25¢ Series either were cancelled or reverted to DC's new standard size (48 pages for 25¢).
